As part of the expansion and further modernisation of the facility, the Chodzież battery plant has created a solar farm extending over 1,000 square metres. The installation has been deployed on the roof of the industrial halls. This is another environmentally-friendly solution at the factory.
The Chodzież battery factory had already built the first 50kW photovoltaic installation on the roof of the production hall in 2021. The panels had a total area of 250 sq m. The installation produced around 50 kWh of energy a year. In the second phase of the project carried out at Jenox Akumulatory, another installation was created, this time with a capacity of 150 kW. to reach the target PV capacity of 200 kW. The works have now been completed. All of the energy provided by the PV system, even during periods of greater sunshine, will be used directly for the factory's internal needs.
It is worth mentioning that Jenox Akumulatory is also researching a Polish energy storage device based on modern lead-acid batteries in cooperation with Enea Group. The purpose of the energy bank under development will be to store the surplus electricity generated by PV installations, among other things.
